Free membership registrationThe damage caused by earthquakes varies depending on the magnitude of the earthquake and the hardness of the ground. During the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, even areas far from the epicenter experienced damage to buildings, including structural damage and collapses. One of the factors contributing to this is believed to be the hardness of the ground. The magnitude of an earthquake is influenced by the ground strength and layer thickness as the earthquake occurs in an engineering foundation (where seismic waves travel at over 400 m/s) and propagates through the ground. In other words, if the ground is soft and the layer thickness is large, the ground shaking will be more intense. The investigation of ground shaking susceptibility calculates the necessary coefficient Co to determine seismic forces based on the results of ground surveys conducted through "surface wave exploration." It is possible to estimate seismic forces taking into account the ground conditions of the survey site.

Free membership registrationThe "Surface Wave Exploration Method" involves applying vibrations to the ground using a vibrator, and receiving those vibrations with two detectors to measure the speed of the vibrations traveling between the detectors. Since it allows for an understanding of the surface ground strength, it reduces unnecessary ground improvement and pile construction judgments compared to other survey methods, thereby decreasing costs. By reducing pile construction, which is treated as underground buried objects, it is more environmentally friendly and lessens the decrease in land real estate value. 【Features】 ■ Measurements are taken at five locations on the site (four corners and the center) → This allows for a comprehensive assessment of the ground conditions and predictions of subsurface layer inclinations. ■ Accurate values that do not rely on human intuition. ■ Measurement is done over an area rather than a point. → The range between detectors (usually a circular area of 1 meter). → It is possible to obtain average ground information rather than partial information due to gravel or foreign objects. ▼ Seminar video now available! A video explaining three survey methods, including the "Surface Wave Exploration Method," is currently available via the link. Please take a look! *For more details, please contact us or download the PDF.

Free membership registrationWe are currently offering a booklet summarizing knowledge to avoid losses in ground surveys, starting with "Surface Wave Exploration Method" from our company, which has the highest number of ground survey cases in Japan! The "Surface Wave Exploration Method" is a ground survey technique that analyzes the propagation conditions and speed of surface waves (seismic waves) by applying weak vibrations to the ground using a vibrator and detecting them with sensors. Ground data can be collected up to a depth of 10 meters, even in the presence of gravel or pebbles. 【Contents】 ■ Basic knowledge about ground surveys ■ What is surface wave exploration? ■ Procedure for surface wave exploration ■ Surface wave exploration Q&A ■ Second opinion on ground surveys *For more details, please contact us or download the PDF to view.

Free membership registrationThe "Surface Wave Exploration Method" is a ground investigation technique that applies weak vibrations to the ground using a vibrator and analyzes the propagation conditions and speed of surface waves (seismic waves) with detectors (sensors). Ground data can be collected up to a depth of 10 meters, even in the presence of gravel and stones. By predicting the stratigraphic composition, it enables area-based analysis and allows for the extreme prediction of differential settlement possibilities. High-precision analysis reduces unnecessary ground improvement and pile construction, leading to cost reduction. Additionally, it decreases CO2 emissions generated by large machinery and soil contamination caused by ground improvement. 【Features】 ■ Five measurements are taken within the site → Survey points are established at the four corners and the center of the planned building location → This allows for a comprehensive assessment of ground conditions and predictions of internal stratigraphic inclinations ■ Accurate figures that do not rely on human intuition ■ Measurement is done over an area rather than a point → Measurement: the range between detectors (typically a circular area of 50 cm) → It is possible to obtain average ground information rather than partial information due to gravel or foreign objects. Free membership registrationThe "Surface Wave Exploration Method" is a suitable investigation method for examining whether a residential building, subjected to surface loads, is supported by the ground as a surface. By selecting a high-precision ground investigation method, it is possible to reduce the risk of settlement accidents and lower the ratio of ground improvement work assessments. Eliminating unnecessary ground improvement work leads to a significant reduction in total costs (ground investigation + construction costs). At Biik, we are currently offering two free consultation services: the "Surface Wave Exploration Method Second Opinion Service" and the "Surface Wave Exploration Method Neighboring Data Search Service." Please utilize these as a second opinion before your first request! 【Free Consultation Services】 *Ground investigation using the Surface Wave Exploration Method is chargeable ■ Surface Wave Exploration Method Second Opinion Service ◎ If a ground improvement work assessment has been made using another investigation method ◎ We will inform you of the possibility that a ground improvement work may not be necessary when investigated using the Surface Wave Exploration Method ■ Surface Wave Exploration Method Neighboring Data Search Service ◎ If you want to know the ground investigation results of nearby areas ◎ We will provide you with the investigation and assessment results of areas neighboring the planned construction site For more details, please refer to the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThe "Foundation Base Isolation System" can reduce the shaking of buildings during major earthquakes to a maximum of seismic intensity 5 by laying two sliding sheets under the foundation of the building. *This is based on the vibration test results obtained during the certification of the Better Living Technology Review by a general incorporated association. By preventing damage and collapse of buildings and the tipping and falling of furniture caused by major earthquakes, it can be utilized as a new earthquake countermeasure to protect "family lives" and "the property value of homes" at a low cost. 【Features】 ■ Reduces shaking from major earthquakes to seismic intensity 5! → The overlapping two sliding sheets dissipate the forces of the earthquake. → Reduces shaking from earthquakes of seismic intensity 7 class to seismic intensity 5. ■ Protects family lives! → The reduction in shaking helps prevent damage to buildings and tipping of furniture caused by major earthquakes. ■ The sliding sheets are highly durable and long-lasting! → High-performance sheets designed for repeated earthquakes are used. → Maintains performance over a long period. ■ Satisfactory free plan! → Since it only requires laying sliding sheets under the foundation, it allows for flexible building design. For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Free membership registrationThe dynamic seismic measurement system is a system that measures the behavior of a building by installing a shaker on the second floor of the building to create small earthquakes (around seismic intensity 1 to 2) and shaking the building in the east-west and north-south directions. Unlike conventional seismic assessments, this system can quantify the level of seismic intensity at which the building remains safe. Additionally, by combining it with ground investigation using the "surface wave exploration method," it can also determine the compatibility between the building and the ground ("resonance"), making it easier to identify key reinforcement areas during renovations or new constructions. 【Features】 ■ An investigation method that is easy for end users to understand ■ Clear proposals for prioritizing seismic reinforcement ■ Gaining trust through professional insights and mechanical measurements in investigations and reinforcement proposals *For more details, please contact us or refer to the PDF.
