Free membership registrationThe technical certified rocket circle "CREATE" of Tokyo University of Science (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology) has adopted Silex's 802.11ah products for rocket development. CREATE operates under the philosophy of "learning to make things fun." Since its establishment in 2008, it has aimed to nurture the next generation of engineers through experiences in space-related technology and rocket design, achieving numerous success stories. In their current project, they are tackling an unprecedented challenge with the "C-73J" rocket, which involves the mission of transmitting video from the rocket to the ground in real-time. To address the challenges of long-distance video transmission, which were difficult with conventional wireless communication methods, they have adopted the latest wireless standard 802.11ah (Wi-Fi HaLow) provided by Silex. This case study introduces the background and process of the rocket development project, as well as the expectations the students have for the 802.11ah standard.
