Our research team, consisting of Keio University, Ito En, Inc., SI Resin Industry Co., Ltd., and the Keio University Advanced Molecular Science and Technology Research Center, has successfully obtained a degradation bacterium for polypropylene (PP) that incorporates the additive "P-Life," which imparts biodegradability to plastics. This research achievement represents an important step towards the microbial degradation treatment of non-degradable polyolefin-based plastics.
