Plastic products are used in a wide variety of applications due to their low cost and the ability to be mass-produced; however, the disposal of these products after use has become a global environmental issue. Additionally, manufacturers face the "waste disposal problem." In Japan, more than half of the waste plastic is effectively utilized by recovering the thermal energy generated during incineration (thermal recycling), but from the perspective of "resource circulation," efforts towards material recycling are recommended. As one of the few pellet-type 3D printer manufacturers in Japan, S.Lab has considered how to address these issues and has developed a compact system that provides new added value by repelting waste plastic through 1. crushing (crusher), 2. extrusion (extruder), and 3. cutting (pelletizer), and "creating shapes with a pellet-type 3D printer."
