A laser is light that is artificially created by a laser oscillator. The main component within the laser oscillator that generates laser light is called the "optical resonator." In the optical resonator, the medium absorbs and emits energy between two opposing mirrors, amplifying the light (electromagnetic waves). These two facing mirrors direct the laser light in a specific direction and amplify the light. One of the mirrors is a partially reflective mirror, allowing a portion of the condensed energy (laser light) to be supplied to the outside.
