At Tomita Kasei, in addition to the design, manufacturing, and construction of FRP tanks, we also conduct inspections and deterioration diagnostics. During the deterioration diagnosis of the tanks, we calculate whether the size and number of anchor bolts of the installed tanks are sufficient for the seismic level required by the customer (free of charge). We examine and report on the risks of tipping (pull-out load stress) and lateral displacement (shear stress) during disasters such as earthquakes. <FRP tanks actually deteriorate> About 40 to 50 years ago, FRP tanks rapidly spread in Japan due to their high corrosion resistance and lack of corrosion. However, in reality, corrosion does occur, and there are cases where only external repairs are made without noticing the deterioration of the inner surface. This can lead to "leaks" from the base of tank nozzles that have reached the end of their lifespan, and it becomes easier for peeling and cracking to occur, which is very dangerous.
