Free membership registrationWe are pleased to announce that our company, in collaboration with Nichimou Co., Ltd., has introduced the radiation cooling material "SPACECOOL," which can dissipate heat into space and cool without energy, to address the challenges posed by extreme heat in the fishing industry, where stable transportation of catches is becoming increasingly difficult. This is the first time this technology has been implemented in the fishing industry. The introduction has already begun in Chiba Prefecture, starting with the purse seine fishing boats "Kinsei Maru" and "Ito Maru." [To reduce ice melting and allow fishermen to focus on fishing without unnecessary tasks] Nichimou, one of the distributors of this material and possessing expertise in marine technology such as research and development of fishing nets and gear, has introduced this material for the first time on the Chiba-registered purse seine fishing boats "Kinsei Maru" and "Ito Maru." It was confirmed that the temperature inside the ice storage hold decreased by approximately 3°C compared to when it was covered with conventional cooling sheets. As a result, fishermen can use ice economically and systematically, and without the need to manage ice, they can focus on fishing without worrying about the freshness of their catch or the timing of their return, even during large hauls. Free membership registrationWe are pleased to announce that our daytime radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL," which cools by dissipating heat into space with zero energy, has won the Good Design Gold Award for the fiscal year 2024. Furthermore, the Good Design Gold Award will be a candidate for the upcoming Good Design Grand Prize. 【What is the daytime radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL"?】 It is a new material that blocks heat from sunlight and the atmosphere, allowing heat to be released into space through the principle of radiative cooling, thereby enabling a temperature drop below the outside air temperature with zero energy. By applying this material to facilities exposed to direct sunlight, such as buildings and outdoor electrical equipment, it can suppress temperature rises without emitting CO2, contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality, and potentially improve measures against heatstroke and enhance labor productivity. Free membership registrationOur company will begin a demonstration test to measure the environmental improvement effects of "SPACECOOL," a radiation cooling material developed and sold by us, as part of our new efforts to achieve decarbonization in collaboration with Tokyo Metropolitan Government. This material will be adopted for use on Tokyo's municipal buses and bus stops. Recently, our technology was evaluated as contributing to the theme of "realizing a decarbonized society" in the "Business Proposal System by Startups" solicited by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, leading to the initiation of a new demonstration test aimed at improving energy efficiency with the radiation cooling material "SPACECOOL." By applying this material to the roofs of two designated municipal buses, we will suppress the interior temperature and measure the reduction in air conditioning energy consumption. Additionally, we will verify whether applying it to the roofs of bus stop shelters can improve the hot environment during waiting times. Free membership registrationOur company and Ronseal Industrial Co., Ltd. have begun testing the introduction of waterproof sheets utilizing the radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL" as part of the decarbonization efforts of Netz Toyota Saitama Co., Ltd., aimed at reducing air conditioning energy in stores. This is the first time this product will be introduced in an automobile dealer showroom. The radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL" can cool by releasing heat into outer space under direct sunlight, achieving zero energy consumption. By integrating it with Ronseal Industrial's waterproof sheets, we can realize both energy savings and the waterproof performance of building rooftops. As a result of applying this product to the rooftop of the Netz Toyota Saitama Kumagaya store, we confirmed that while the temperature of the surrounding roads was approximately 59°C, the surface temperature of the building's rooftop was kept to about 39°C. Free membership registrationThe lithium-ion battery reverse logistics solution "LiBerth Reverse," provided by the major international logistics company Nisshin Corporation, has adopted the radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL," developed and sold by our company. ■ What is "LiBerth Reverse"? It is a reverse logistics solution for safely transporting and storing used lithium-ion batteries, featuring safe and efficient logistics functions tailored to the characteristics and conditions of lithium-ion batteries. ■ Adoption of the radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL" and verification tests The adoption of this material as a heat insulation measure for the container-type dedicated lithium-ion battery container "LiB Container" (available in 20ft and 40ft sizes) provided by Reverse significantly reduces the risks associated with transporting and storing lithium-ion batteries, even during summer. In verification tests where this material was applied to the surface of the LiB Container (20ft), it was confirmed that, even with the container's thick insulation structure, the internal temperature could be maintained below the target temperature of 35°C during summer. Free membership registrationWe are pleased to announce that the radiation cooling material "SPACECOOL," developed and sold by SPACECOOL Corporation, has been adopted for the outdoor remote monitoring and control panels of gas supply facilities owned by Hokkaido Gas Co., Ltd. For gas supply operators, it is essential to control gas pressure and remotely operate valves to ensure the safe and stable supply of gas to customers. These remote monitoring control panels are installed outdoors, and particularly in summer, direct sunlight can cause the temperature inside the panels to rise, triggering high-temperature alerts and potentially leading to equipment failures. In response to these challenges, Hokkaido Gas, which faced similar issues, focused on the radiation cooling material "SPACECOOL," which can cool without energy consumption under direct sunlight. They have introduced SPACECOOL to approximately 350 outdoor remote monitoring control panels. Furthermore, by adopting SPACECOOL in newly installed control panels, they aim to address the aforementioned challenges and ensure a safer and more stable gas supply, especially during the anticipated heatwaves this summer and beyond. Free membership registrationSPACECOOL Inc., which develops and sells the radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL," is pleased to announce that this material has been newly adopted in communication facilities owned by QTnet, a company engaged in telecommunications in the Kyushu region, with construction set to be completed at 16 communication facilities by July 2024. This marks the first adoption of this material in the information and communication industry based in the Kyushu region. Previously, QTnet experienced issues during the summer when sunlight entered through the ceilings of communication facilities, causing internal temperatures to rise and triggering temperature rise alerts frequently. Additionally, the internal temperatures exceeded the air conditioning settings significantly, leading to increased power consumption, prompting the search for a solution. To address the rise in internal temperatures, the material was tested on the entire surface of the facilities, resulting in a maximum internal temperature reduction of 5.3°C and an average reduction of 3.6°C. This allowed for an increase in the air conditioning setting by up to 4°C, contributing to reduced power consumption, which led to its adoption. Free membership registrationSPACECOOL Inc. will exhibit at the J-Startup Pavilion of "LEAP2024," the largest global tech event in the Middle East, hosted by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Saudi Arabia from March 4 (Monday) to March 7 (Thursday), 2024, as one of the 10 leading startup companies representing Japan. Our developed and sold radiative cooling material, "SPACECOOL," blocks over 95% of heat from sunlight and the atmosphere under direct sunlight, not only suppressing heat absorption but also utilizing the principle of radiative cooling to release over 95% of heat into space. This enables a temperature reduction below that of the outside air with zero energy, making it an optical film with world-class radiative cooling performance. In regions with harsh hot environments, including the Middle East, this material can contribute value in various scenarios, such as improving heat-related challenges, enhancing energy efficiency, and realizing a carbon-neutral society. Through this exhibition, we aim to accelerate our efforts with local partners in regions facing severe heat issues, including the Middle East, and contribute to global decarbonization and climate change measures.
