At S Structural Planning Workshop, we support the creation of homes with high safety through "base isolation construction methods." "Base isolation construction" can be simply described as a system that insulates the ground from the building to prevent ground vibrations from being transmitted to the structure. However, insulating large buildings from the ground is not easy. Therefore, methods such as "sliding base isolation," "rolling base isolation," and "spherical sliding base isolation" are employed, which insert sliding devices between the building and the foundation to reduce the transmission of lateral ground movements. 【Mechanism】 ■ Sliding base isolation - Attach slippery metal plates on both sides of the foundation and the building to allow sliding. ■ Rolling base isolation - Insert ball bearings between the foundation and the building to allow sliding. ■ Spherical sliding base isolation - Insert a device that combines a spherical sliding plate and sliding balls between the foundation and the building. *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us.
