At a certain geothermal power plant, the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in the surrounding area was high due to volcanic gases, so the power generation equipment was placed in a sealed enclosure. A malfunction occurred in the electronic equipment associated with the production facilities at a certain chemical fiber factory, and we received a consultation regarding countermeasures. At the site, the smell of hydrogen sulfide was present, and hydrogen sulfide was generated at concentrations above a certain level. It was inferred that sulfuric acid, used in various processes at the factory, was the cause of the hydrogen sulfide generation. Since there were numerous sources of generation, it was judged that it would be difficult to implement countermeasures for all of them. At a certain chemical product factory, the equipment (measuring device) in the wastewater quality measurement room malfunctioned, and hydrogen sulfide was recognized as the cause. After this incident, we received inquiries about hydrogen sulfide countermeasures through word of mouth.
