We would like to introduce a case where "Eco Taro" was installed at Fukuoka Material Warehouse by TRAIL Co., Ltd. At the company, there were no outdoor lights around the parking lot, making it difficult to recognize the entrance. Therefore, a new pole was erected and installed as an outdoor light. Three new lights were also installed in the indoor warehouse. After installation, the high-durability floodlight illuminates a wide area even with just one unit, without glare from the light source, thus preventing light pollution to the neighboring areas. The company replaced mercury lamps in four buildings. Since the brightness levels varied greatly, the illuminance in each building was uniformly improved to 200 lux. Due to the mercury treaty, the company needed to update its lighting as the manufacturing and import/export of mercury lamps and fluorescent lamps will be prohibited starting in 2021. After the replacement, the brightness increased by approximately 30%. The company reported that while there were no issues with workability during the day due to natural light from skylights, workability became poor around sunset (average illuminance of 90-150 lx), leading to a request for improvement of the site environment. The average illuminance, which was 90-150 lux before the replacement, improved to approximately 250-280 lux after the installation (perceived as 380-430 lux).
