"Tempered glass and double-strength glass" are types of glass that are heated to near their softening point (650°C to 700°C) and then rapidly cooled by uniformly blowing air onto them, creating a compressive layer on the glass surface. Even if the glass breaks, it shatters into small particles, significantly reducing the risk of injury from sharp fragments. In terms of sudden temperature changes, double-strength glass has twice the thermal resistance, while tempered glass has several times the thermal resistance compared to float glass, resulting in two to several times the thermal breakage strength.
