From April 3 to July 10, 2021, our company’s punching metal was used as the exhibition wall material for the exhibition "Try Try Try" by typographer and graphic designer Helmut Schmidt, held at the ddd Gallery in Kyoto. By using SUS430, a stainless steel material that has magnetic properties, the artworks were displayed by being held with magnets or mounted on display shelves secured with screws in the holes, maximizing the characteristics of the material and the punching metal. Additionally, compared to installing a solid wall, the punching metal, with its perforations, created a space that did not feel oppressive, utilizing the appropriate level of transparency.

The stylish and beautiful exterior of the Osaka Umeda Twin Towers South stands out prominently in the heart of Osaka's Umeda district. Matsuyo Industry was involved in the production of the distinctive punched metal exterior panels that adorn the facade of the Hanshin Umeda Main Store located in the lower levels. The balance between the inorganic and modern impression of the metal panels and the warm impression of the interior and greenery visible through the windows creates a multifaceted charm.

The exterior of the live hall Zepp Namba (OSAKA) in Namba, Osaka, has adopted perforated panels produced by our company. From a design perspective, the exterior panels consist of three types of perforated panels with different opening ratios, and by randomly combining areas without these panels, the aesthetic appeal has been further enhanced. Additionally, the use of perforated panels not only adds to the design but also ensures ventilation while providing a moderate level of privacy. Furthermore, the perforated exterior panels have the function of moderately suppressing light and wind, thus protecting the plants placed for wall greening from direct sunlight and strong winds, creating an environment suitable for their growth.

In Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, there is a health theme park called "Medi-Messe Sakujuji," which aims to integrate lifestyle and healthcare through "medicine, food, and housing." Matsuyou Industries produced interior panels made of punched metal, inspired by trees, which were adopted for the entrance and columns of the facility. This impressive punched metal was created using our unique technology called Free Art Perforation, which allows us to produce the design provided by the customer by adjusting the size and arrangement of the holes. In this case, the functionality of the punched metal to allow light to pass through was utilized by placing lighting inside, creating a silhouette of the trees. By combining punched metal interior panels with lighting and natural light, it is possible to create spatial effects using light. Additionally, as shown in the photos below, by adding R-bending processing to the punched metal, it can also be used as cylindrical columns or lighting components.

The elevator floor panels at "FUJIFILM Creative Village," the design and IT development hub of the Fujifilm Group, have adopted our design embossing. Specifically, the elevator features a solid design characterized by a raw concrete shaft, and it uses panels with a design emboss that combines slip resistance functionality with metallic aesthetics for the elevator floor. *Design embossing refers to a process where an embossed pattern (creating protrusions on a flat sheet) is applied to the surface of metal materials using molds, resulting in architectural interior and exterior panels that express hemispherical, circular, square, and hexagonal shapes in a three-dimensional manner.*

I was involved in the production of the perforated folded plate louvers installed in a gentle arc on the facade of the Tottori City Hall main building, including proposals for the design of the holes. The common areas feature perforated folded plates, while the office spaces and meeting rooms use louvered plates without holes, allowing for adjustments in direct sunlight control and privacy levels according to their intended use. Additionally, in terms of design, the perforated folded plates, painted to evoke the colors of the Tottori Sand Dunes, incorporate a hole pattern with three different hole diameters arranged randomly and four types of bending processes, creating varied expressions depending on the viewing angle.
