Free membership registrationAre there any cracks that occur from burrs or fine scratches on the inner diameter of holes machined into the workpiece? This is an introduction to a case study on precision grinding that prevents cracks from such machined holes. When holes are drilled, there is a possibility of cracks occurring from burrs or fine scratches. By precision grinding the inner diameter of the holes, scratches can be eliminated, and cracks can be prevented. *For more details, please contact us directly. *Please view the PDF of the case studies available for download.

Free membership registrationThis is an introduction to a case where the burn marks from welding were eliminated and the surface was made uniform through a shot blasting surface treatment with 400-grit glass beads. By achieving surface uniformity, the corrosion resistance is significantly improved, transforming the parts into ones that are less prone to rust. *The left image compares before and after the shot blasting treatment. *Please refer to the PDF in the download section for the case study collection.

Free membership registrationAfter ultra-precision polishing equivalent to 1000 grit (mirror finish), a 400 grit glass bead shot blast treatment can be applied, allowing for a surface treatment that creates depth and character as shown in the image. Additionally, the uniformity of the surface is expected to enhance corrosion resistance. *The image on the left compares the color changes of the surface after mirror treatment and after shot blasting. *Please refer to the PDF available for download for case studies.

Free membership registrationThis is a case study of precision grinding. Buff polishing (mirror finish) equivalent to #1000 on a "stirring machine (blade)." Due to its ultra-precision, the surface has almost no irregularities. There is no corrosion or adhesion of impurities, allowing for long-term use. *The image on the left shows a buff-polished screw (equivalent to #1000) made of SUS430. This SUS430 screw has been in use for about 10 years and shows almost no corrosion. *Please refer to the PDF available for download for the case studies.

Free membership registrationIshida Polishing Industry specializes in polishing various materials through 'Metal Polishing,' which beautifully restores the shine of metals that have lost their luster due to rust or aging, and 'Paint Polishing,' which enhances the appearance of painted surfaces. ■ 'Metal Polishing' We create the desired gloss using buff polishing with various grits of emery polishing powder, sisal buffs, and cotton bias for mirror finishes. ■ 'Paint Polishing' We utilize a wide variety of buffs and polishing agents to produce high-quality surfaces. Additionally, you can choose from finishes such as mirror, satin, and shot. ☆☆ Polishing Example ☆☆ When achieving a mirror finish on the propeller of a lost-wax outboard motor, we managed to keep the weight difference between the three blades within 10g, resulting in each blade's specified thickness being within standards—truly a testament to craftsmanship. *For processing examples and details, please contact us directly.

Additionally, you can choose from finishes such as mirror, satin, and shot. ☆☆ Polishing Example ☆☆ When polishing with standard iron buffs, water marks can occur, which will appear after plating. We perform standard polishing to remove scratches and achieve gloss. At this stage, water marks can develop, so we then manually sand the surface to achieve a mirror finish (successfully suppressing the occurrence of water marks through careful selection of mirror finishing tools and rotation speed). At that time, products from other competitors had a defect rate of 90%, and manufacturers were using air freight daily to supply parts to the United States. After much trial and error, we arrived at the above process, which reduced our defect rate to about 10%, allowing us to switch to shipping by sea.

After grinding with paper, we finished the work using non-woven fabric by hand. The paper and polishing machines used here were the same as those used for polishing painted products. I believe this is a job that competitors with experience only in metal polishing would not be able to handle. This polishing method has also been applied to the polishing of internal frames for JR.
