Originally, the string curtains that were first created in Germany were intended for home decoration, but in Japan, perhaps due to different housing conditions, they were not commonly used in residential settings and were primarily utilized in commercial spaces. About 20 years ago, when we began producing domestic string curtains under the brand Line View, we started with basic colors. Over time, we have expanded our lineup to include colorful options, as well as hand-dyed gradients and digitally printed designs. In recent years, the variety of ways these products are used has increased, including in the design of stores, hotels, offices, and stage sets. Line View is produced in the Kiryu region of Gunma Prefecture, an area historically known for its thriving textile industry. The techniques of weaving, knitting, dyeing, and printing have been passed down through generations, and Line View is created based on this foundation. Additionally, to ensure it can be used in various settings, Line View is made from flame-retardant polyester. They began to be imported to Japan over 20 years ago, but challenges such as flame retardant performance, inventory management, and custom orders remained.
