We provide an in-vehicle compatible RFID reader/writer that can manage items inside the vehicle. Miyagawa Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has developed and offers a reader/writer that complies with in-vehicle standards. In addition to providing item management systems using conventional RFID reader/writers in offices and warehouses, we can also manage items in vehicles in the same way. The item management system for in-vehicle items using the in-vehicle compatible RFID reader/writer has the following features, ensuring thorough management of items on-site: (1) Items in the vehicle can be instantly checked using RFID on-site. (2) By linking with the in-vehicle system, it can prevent forgotten or left-behind items. (3) Information on people, items, vehicles, and usage history can be centralized, automating traceability management. (4) Items can be read regularly. This is an "RFID test bed" facility for the development and demonstration of technologies related to RFID wave propagation characteristics. It consists of a large anechoic chamber (6.5m × 4.5m × H3.4m) and RFID-specific broadband reader/writer and transmission/reception antennas, allowing for precise evaluation of large managed objects in conditions close to actual installation environments. ◆ It is one of the largest permanent RFID evaluation facilities in Japan. ◆ It can be used by anyone involved in RFID research, development, and business, including companies, schools, and research institutions. * This test bed was established as part of the new technology development facility (IoT test bed) project of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), which was selected for funding on March 13, 2020.
