Installation of 16 above-ground water tanks in the construction of a new large-scale advanced logistics facility by a foreign-affiliated company!

This is an introduction to the installation of our above-ground seismic-resistant water storage tank and fire water tank, the 'BUG type', at a large advanced logistics facility in Osaka Prefecture. During the construction of the large-scale logistics facility, the need for fire-fighting water supply was considered. The installation site was on reclaimed land, and it was determined that installing an underground fire water tank through excavation work would be difficult, leading to the adoption of the above-ground type. After assessing the required water volume, a total of 16 units were installed. [Points for Installation and Selection] ■ A fire water tank was required due to the construction of the large advanced logistics facility. It was determined that excavation work for underground installation could not be performed on the reclaimed land, so the above-ground type was adopted.

During the expansion of an existing private sector precision parts manufacturing factory, instructions were received from the local fire department regarding the need for additional fire water supply and a review of the layout due to the application of the Fire Service Act. The layout was considered with respect to the distance between the existing and newly constructed buildings and the fire water tank, and it was required that the tank be positioned so as not to affect the building's foundation. The decision to adopt an above-ground type was made due to the limited space available for civil engineering work.
