In response, our company has developed a "pull handle with an assist mechanism" that can be operated with light force, aiming to make life more comfortable for children and the elderly. The design concept is "reducing the initial operating force." When the handle is slid, a built-in arm extends, and a tip roller kicks against the sash frame to assist with the initial operation. Accordion gates, commonly used in residential garages, can sometimes feel difficult to open and close due to misalignment between the gate post and the gate itself. This issue arises because it is challenging to align the heights of the gate post and the gate during installation. Our "Lever-type Accordion Gate Lock" features a horizontally positioned latch. This design allows for smooth opening and closing even when there is significant vertical misalignment between the gate post and the gate. Additionally, it incorporates a "link mechanism" that combines sliding and rotational movements within a very small space at the top bridge of the handle. We have renewed the sliding door wheels used in household dish cabinets. It has a height adjustment feature, but until now, a screwdriver was needed for the adjustment. The client's request was to reduce costs by decreasing the number of parts. Therefore, we thought about integrating the operation dial with the height adjustment screw, allowing it to be turned directly by hand. This not only eliminates the need for gears but also removes the need for a screwdriver, making the operation inside the cabinet safe and comfortable. Moreover, the impact of opening and closing not only creates noise but also poses a significant risk of accidents. Therefore, we thought that if we could realize a sliding door that operates quietly and lightly, and closes naturally, it could contribute to a new Japanese lifestyle characterized by calmness and harmony. Although there were opening limit devices for sliding windows, most of them were installed at the top or bottom of the window, which caused issues such as the sash tilting and getting damaged during opening restrictions. Additionally, with larger windows, operations would take place overhead or at foot level, leading to a lack of comfort. In response, our company focused on providing a comfortable operation for the elderly and those with physical disabilities by implementing opening restrictions at the sash meeting point near the center of the window. Similar to casement windows, we adopted a specification that limits the operation of fully open and partially open positions to specific users by equipping it with a dedicated key. As a result, we have received positive feedback for being able to install it safely in children's rooms, hospital rooms, and welfare facilities, making it a long-selling product. In response, our company has devised an opening restriction at the sash edge. This allows us to maintain a consistent opening restriction amount regardless of the sash width. Additionally, a simple stopper is placed at the tip of the arm, enabling the temporary retention of the sliding door in the restricted opening state, thus achieving both fall prevention and natural ventilation. When closing the sliding door, if done with too much force, not only does a loud impact sound occur, but the door can bounce back and create a gap. To address this, SKB has combined two different actions, "deceleration" and "retraction," using an oil damper and a tension spring to enhance them into a comfortable series of movements within a single unit. Additionally, it can be installed on a compact rail with a small cross-section of 28×24mm, achieving stylish details that do not obstruct the interior. With our "soft close mechanism," there are no impact sounds or gaps left when closing or opening. To address this issue, our company adopted a Geneva mechanism in the spring adjustment section and carved a spiral groove into the stopper, thereby solving the problem. In response, our company has developed a mechanism that uses the centrifugal force generated by rotating tires to apply brakes, solving this problem. When the tires accelerate rapidly due to sudden opening and closing, the brake pads open due to centrifugal force.
