It possesses excellent characteristics such as decay resistance, water resistance, thermal insulation, anti-corrosion, termite resistance, and dimensional stability, all while exuding the elegance and dignity of natural buried wood, making it a new natural material that can be tailored to individual preferences. - Minato Park Shibaura This public facility in Minato Ward utilizes S-TECH WOOD louvers made from abundant domestic timber sourced from partner municipalities and complies with the Minato Model Carbon Dioxide Fixation Certification System. The total amount of wood used in the building is 470 m³, of which 138 m³ is S-TECH WOOD. Various applications of heat-treated S-TECH WOOD can be found in sun-shading louvers that reduce thermal load indoors, benches that provide a place to relax, entrance ceiling louvers, and highly decorative exterior walls.
