Enabling reliable pre-recognition and judgment! Case study of the introduction of a lightning and weather information provision system.
We would like to introduce a case where the lightning and weather information provision system "Lightning Scope" was implemented at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. Nagoya Guidance and Propulsion Systems Works.
Previously, each manufacturing site dealt with lightning (and instantaneous voltage drops) by making independent judgments based on weather forecasts and visual assessments.
Unlike typhoons and heavy rain, lightning strikes occur suddenly, making it difficult to predict, and there were challenges such as not knowing the lightning conditions in distant areas.
Therefore, we introduced this product, which guarantees a certain level of accuracy and timing of information delivery, and allows for customization.
By using the system, it has become possible to reliably recognize and make judgments in advance regarding sudden heavy rains (and the accompanying lightning) such as guerrilla rain.
[Challenges Before Product Implementation]
■ Lightning strikes occur suddenly, making predictions difficult
■ Unable to understand lightning conditions in distant areas
■ High dependency on individuals
■ Even if information is available, it cannot be automatically communicated to the manufacturing site
■ Cannot provide information in a phased manner
