Nakata Foods is a food manufacturer based in Wakayama Prefecture, specializing in the production and sale of pickled plums, plum wine, and plum processed products. The plum seasoning wastewater generated during the pickling process is an extremely high-concentration wastewater exceeding BOD: 100,000 mg/l, making it difficult to treat with conventional wastewater treatment facilities. To utilize the plum seasoning wastewater as a biomass source, we introduced our anaerobic wastewater treatment facility, "Bio Impact." Previously treated as industrial waste, the plum seasoning wastewater can now be processed at a reduced cost thanks to the high-efficiency anaerobic wastewater treatment facility. "We want to stabilize water quality and enable treatment." "We would like to request a consistent approach from investigation to construction and maintenance." These concerns have been addressed by Nakayama Environmental Engineering. This time, we will introduce a case where an existing wastewater treatment facility (batch type) at a seafood processing plant was modified to a membrane treatment facility. Just like the efforts for HACCP in the manufacturing process, attention is also paid to wastewater treatment, but the previous batch method was complicated and difficult to operate. Therefore, to ensure stable treated water quality without worrying about sedimentation, we modified the existing system to a membrane separation activated sludge method. [Case Study of Wastewater Treatment Facility] Ibaraki Prefecture Cut Vegetable Factory 250m3/d Treatment

Introduction of case studies on the implementation of wastewater treatment facilities considering the environmental conservation of Lake Kasumigaura and future production increases.

We would like to introduce a case study of our "wastewater treatment facility" implemented at a cut vegetable factory in Ibaraki Prefecture. Previously, the factory did not have wastewater treatment equipment, which sometimes polluted the irrigation channels. Considering the customer's commitment to environmental conservation in Kasumigaura and the potential for future production increases, they decided to explore wastewater treatment options. Our company conducted detailed water quality and quantity surveys, and we made a proposal that satisfied the customer in terms of both equipment and cost, leading to its adoption. As a result, the irrigation channels have been kept clean due to the discharge of clean water, and there have been no exceedances of wastewater standards to date, contributing to the environmental conservation of Kasumigaura. Additionally, even during peak seasons when wastewater volume increases, stable treatment has been achieved. [Case Study of Wastewater Treatment Facility] Miyagi Prefecture Seafood Processing Plant (70m3/d Treatment)

Introduction of case studies on the implementation of wastewater treatment facilities when existing drainage treatment equipment is unable to discharge properly.

We would like to introduce a case study of a fish processing factory in Miyagi Prefecture that implemented our "wastewater treatment facility." At this factory, the wastewater treatment equipment was not functioning properly, resulting in an inability to discharge the treated water, which had to be disposed of as industrial waste. We immediately installed a lease machine with a membrane package that could process the wastewater, and after two years of temporary operation, we earned their trust and secured the contract for the main project. As a result, compared to the time when they were disposing of treated water as industrial waste, the running costs have significantly decreased. Additionally, a denitrification tank, which was not present in the previous equipment, was added, allowing for stable operation through nitrogen removal and membrane treatment. The person in charge has expressed their satisfaction, stating that daily operations have become easier.
