To enhance the interior of the underground store, we applied Emma to the ceilings and walls, addressing interior restrictions. 【Veneer Revolution】 Non-combustible regional material veneer sheet Emma This is an introduction to the oak quarter-sawn random veneer adopted by Nomura Real Estate Co., Ltd. and Tokyu Construction Co., Ltd. at H1O Chayamachi. Oak belongs to the beech family, Quercus alba. Interestingly, wood has a connection to alcohol. In ancient times, there were of course no plastics, metals, or glass, so containers for liquids like alcohol had to rely solely on wood. In Japan, cedar is used for sake barrels, while in Europe and America, varieties of white oak are used for whiskey barrels. Therefore, the aroma of cedar wood becomes the scent of sake, and the aroma of whiskey is derived from the scent of this white oak wood. The heartwood is gray-brown to brown. Due to the presence of large radial structures, beautiful silver grain can be seen on the quarter-sawn surface. It is heavy and hard, with an air-dry specific gravity of about 0.75.
