[Example of Molding] High-Precision Ceramic Molding

Adopting an easily removable die set system! This significantly reduces equipment downtime and simplifies cleaning.

"ZENFormer plus" enables high-precision molding through a withdrawal method that simultaneously lowers the punch and die, reducing density differences in the axial direction, and achieves high-quality mass production through parallel control. By adopting an easily removable die set system, external setup is possible. This significantly reduces equipment downtime and simplifies cleaning. Additionally, during standby, power consumption is limited to only what is necessary for the control circuit. During production operation, the servo motor is utilized as a generator to regenerate deceleration energy, thereby reducing power consumption during continuous operation. 【Features of ZENFormer plus】 ■ Simultaneous lowering of punch and die ■ Achieves high-quality mass production through parallel control ■ Standby power consumption is limited to only what is necessary for the control circuit ■ Reduces power consumption during continuous operation by regenerating deceleration energy *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Economic Die System 'EDS-02/EDS-04'

We will accommodate your specifications from transfer, progressive, to robotic processing.

Introducing the 'EDS-02/EDS-04' handled by Daito DM Solutions Co., Ltd. The "EDS-02" is a multi-process economic die system that is a composite type formed by connecting the basic model EDS-01. The "EDS-04" is an EDS die set that achieves high precision through a dedicated upper and lower centering jig and a high-precision base plate. 【Features of EDS-04】 ■ Supports die types with extremely small clearances (below 0.02) and molds requiring high precision ■ The location pin section can be finely adjusted in the (Y, X) directions, allowing for precision in the vertical position of the usable die height even after press fitting ■ Inspection data table displays the amount of misalignment of the upper and lower location pins in X and Y values, as well as directional representation through graphs *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Press molds [Precision mold design case] Maintenance and startup adjustment time reduction

Significantly reduce the startup adjustment time after troublesome parts replacement! Introducing a case study for electronic component manufacturers.

We record the finished dimensions of all parts. Therefore, when you place an order for replacement parts, we manufacture them with a tolerance of ±1μm compared to the original parts. By simply replacing the parts, we can restore them to a condition equivalent to new, significantly reducing the time required for setup adjustments after part replacement. 【Case Summary】 ■ Customer Industry: Electronic Component Manufacturer ■ Inquiry: Want to reduce the time required for punch and die nesting exchange ■ Proposed Solution: Change the positioning method for punch and die ■ Technology Used: Changed the die nesting keying method to a light press-fit method ■ Results: No adjustments needed after nesting exchange, reducing the time required for replacement by 75% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Press Mold Special Edition Mold Maker Column - Single Shot Type Edition

In the mold maker column, we will continuously share various information about molds! (We also publish the mold maker column on our company Instagram.)

This column is about press molds! There are several types of "press molds." - Single-stroke molds - Progressive molds - Transfer molds The main three types are listed above. This time, I will introduce the "single-stroke mold"! A single-stroke mold is a type of mold that can perform processes such as cutting, bending, and drawing only once with a single mold. The advantages include lower costs compared to other types of molds because there is only one process and the mold structure is not complex, and, for the same reason, it allows for shorter delivery times. In terms of quality benefits, it helps prevent the "hull bottom phenomenon" and the shifting of the product's tip. (I plan to publish a detailed column about the "hull bottom phenomenon" at a later date!) On the other hand, the disadvantages include the tendency for single-stroke molds to have lower productivity compared to other press molds because they are often operated manually, and the limitation of not being able to perform complex processes due to having only one operation. Single-stroke molds are suitable for products with small lot sizes or large sizes. In this first column, I introduced the "single-stroke mold." In the next column, I will explain the "progressive mold"!

Press molds: Not only can we implement BCP measures with the purchase of molds from two companies, but we can also achieve 〇〇!

Specializing in sales types, we have a track record of producing over 10,000 molds! Contributing to quality and productivity improvements by resolving technical issues!

"I would like to purchase molds from two companies as a BCP measure, so could you provide some consultation?" Recently, we received this kind of inquiry from a customer. Molds are often extremely important in factories where production would stop without them, so it is crucial to have multiple suppliers that can respond immediately when needed. There are cases where the specifications of the mold become a quality bottleneck, such as when a situation arises like, "If we could make the part 2mm smaller, we could proceed with this design, but since the mold couldn't accommodate it, we had to make significant changes to the design." I have heard that recently, some clients are requesting dual sourcing. Our company has a department specialized in technical development that will do its utmost to address your technical issues, so if anything resonates with you, please feel free to contact us. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to reach out to us.*

Are you troubled by the short lifespan of punch dies?

Are you troubled by the short lifespan of punches and dies?

"We are troubled by the short lifespan of punch and die for press molds." "We cannot ensure the accuracy of the punch and die." "We want to improve the wear resistance of the punch and die." In response to the voices of our customers that we often hear during our sales activities, Nagumo Manufacturing proposes a processing method that differs from conventional electrical discharge machining. It is common to use carbide and hardened materials for punches and dies, and electrical discharge machining and grinding are the main methods for processing these hard materials. This document introduces the mechanism of electrical discharge machining and the disadvantages that arise from it, and we will propose processing methods aimed at resolving those disadvantages. Our company will exhibit at the Machine Elements Technology Exhibition in Osaka starting October 4th. We sincerely hope you will visit us. *For details about the exhibition, please refer to the basic information!

What is surface roughness in press molds?

What is surface roughness in press molds? An explanation of the meaning of symbols and measurement methods!

This time, I will explain "surface roughness," which is essential in metal processing. Drawings always include symbols or indications that specify the desired surface roughness. I will explain what the indicated surface roughness actually means using photographs. Additionally, I will introduce which machine tools can generally achieve what level of surface roughness. When processing a surface, be sure to check if the machine is suitable for the desired surface roughness.

[Production Example] Stiffener

We will introduce a case where we can accommodate similar products of varying lengths, resulting in a significant improvement in material yield!

We would like to introduce a case where our company manufactured "stiffeners" for truck bed pillar components. The customer's blanking process involved total punching with an NC turret punch, which resulted in poor material yield, high processing costs, and long lead times. In response, we designed and developed a mold that uses the material width of the coil as the product width, allowing for changes in the feed amount to adjust the product length. As a result, we were able to accommodate all similar products with varying lengths, significantly improving material yield, reducing processing costs, and enabling shorter delivery times. [Case Overview (Partial)] ■ Issues - The blanking process involves total punching with an NC turret punch, leading to poor material yield, high processing costs, and long lead times. - There are multiple similar products in the product lineup that only differ in length. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
