We propose the establishment of a sanitary and safe toilet environment for disaster victims.
One of the major concerns for evacuees during evacuation life due to disasters such as earthquakes is the use of toilets. In recent years, the occurrence of natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods has increased, highlighting the need for the establishment of a sanitary and safe toilet environment for disaster victims to use during emergencies. In response to this, we propose considerations for toilet facilities during disasters based on three perspectives: "treatment methods," "toilet functions," and "surrounding environment."
For toilets during disasters, there are treatment methods such as the "manhole direct connection type," which is hygienic and has no limit on processing volume as it discharges directly into the sewer system, and the "underground pit type," which can be used in areas without sewer systems or in areas that have not been earthquake-proofed and does not require flushing water. We also suggest toilet iron covers suitable for these treatment methods, as well as toilet tents, buildings, and bowls. Additionally, we provide products such as solar-powered lighting, pumps, and signage for the surrounding environment.
