[Information] Liquefaction countermeasures using the SST method

We introduce the causes of liquefaction, SST liquefaction countermeasures, and physical principles!

This document introduces liquefaction countermeasures using the SST method. Research and development of countermeasures for liquefaction has a relatively short history, beginning at the national level after the Niigata earthquake in 1964, which caused the collapse of buildings due to liquefaction. By converting the numerous pieces of information obtained from the liquefaction damage during the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11 into empirical values, we believe that it is possible to select liquefaction countermeasure methods that consider "cost-effectiveness." This document was created to introduce liquefaction countermeasures using the SST method. [Contents (partial)] ■ Introduction ■ Liquefaction phenomenon ■ Causes of liquefaction ■ Problems caused by liquefaction ■ Soil layers at risk of liquefaction *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Why not update the water pipes without stopping the road?

Minimizing both traffic congestion and noise. A next-generation water pipe renewal method that connects to the future.

When it becomes necessary to update water pipes on a busy road, concerns about traffic congestion, noise, and vibrations due to construction arise. The SDF method involves inserting a new **flexible stainless steel pipe** into the aging water pipes without extensive excavation work. This significantly shortens the construction period and minimizes the impact on nearby residents and passing vehicles. It is a construction method that protects essential water infrastructure without disrupting daily life, making it friendly to both the environment and people. Non-welded joint "Tsuitaro"

Ensure high quality! Significantly contributes to shortening construction time due to easy and rapid joining.

"Tsuitaro" is a mechanical joint that eliminates on-site welding of piles. After fitting the inner joint, which is welded at the factory to the lower end of the upper pile, onto the outer joint, which is welded at the factory to the upper end of the lower pile, a pin is inserted to join them together. To prevent the pin from moving or falling out during construction, a pin fixing screw is used to secure the pin. 【Features】 ■ No need for welding work on-site, allowing for easy connections ■ High strength and reliability ■ Simple construction management ■ Compatible with a wide range of pile diameters ■ Removable *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Column] Comparison of Other Construction Methods and Processes / The Reason for the Significantly Faster Construction Time

Comparison of construction methods and processes / The reason why the construction time is overwhelmingly fast.

Can we achieve an overwhelming reduction in construction time? ⬛︎Explanation 1: No "slurry production" (compared to cement milk/pile improvement) In the cement milk method and pile improvement, the process begins with "slurry production," where cement and water are mixed at a batch plant. In fact, this preparation alone takes about 90 minutes for a site using 30 tons of cement. The Super Rappu Elneed method eliminates this entire preparation process. Since the solidifying agent is directly inserted in its package, there is no need for a plant or slurry production. The insertion work that took 90 minutes is completed in just 5 minutes. ⬛︎Explanation 2: No "formwork assembly and dismantling" (compared to the Rappu method) In the Rappu method, after "excavation," "formwork assembly" is performed, and after the concrete hardens, "formwork dismantling" occurs. These tasks require specialized craftsmen and are time-consuming processes. The Super Rappu Elneed method utilizes the sides of the excavation hole as a substitute for formwork (earthen formwork), eliminating the entire series of tasks related to "formwork." This allows for reductions in work time, labor costs, and material costs.

Paper on the SKK Method

Improvement of soil quality in soft excavation soil using the gap water suction method (SKK method).

The "Tajiri District Drainage Channel No. 3 Construction" is a project to construct a road tunnel with an excavation length of 134 meters in the Tajiri Takaya area of Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, close to the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line. The tunnel will be built using an open-cut method with an excavation width of approximately 30 meters and a depth of about 15 meters. Due to concerns about insufficient trafficability and deteriorating construction conditions during soil removal, the project utilized the SKK method, which combines the Super Well Point (SWP) method with suction pipes to improve soil quality by extracting pore water and underground air from the soft ground, thereby addressing these issues. The "Paper on the SKK Method" reports the results of confirming the applicability of the SKK method for soil improvement through trial construction and actual construction. 【Contents】 - Overview of the SKK Method - Confirmation of soil improvement effects through on-site trial construction - Application results of the SKK Method (verification in actual construction) For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
