We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of the emergency earthquake alert system 'MJ@lert' at Midori Anzen Co., Ltd. and Midori Logistics Co., Ltd. In response to reports that emergency earthquake alerts would be made publicly available, the company made the management decision to implement the system, as it was absolutely necessary to avoid situations where employees at the logistics center could be harmed by falling cargo during an earthquake. During the consideration period, there were two significant earthquakes, but since no major earthquakes have occurred after the implementation, we cannot currently cite any effects of the system. The emergency earthquake alerts utilize seismic observation data and real-time processing technology from the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience. As part of the utilization of such research outcomes, an automatic linkage system with broadcasting equipment was established to ensure the safety of those working at the institute and visitors. As a result, despite experiencing a strong seismic motion of intensity 6- on the Japanese seismic scale, the institute was able to avoid human casualties.
