"Graphene" is a high-performance next-generation material for which Dr. Andre Geim and Dr. Konstantin Novoselov of the University of Manchester in the UK were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010. It is made from black carbon and is predicted to create new markets and significant economic effects, leading to the assertion that "the 20th century was the century of silicon (Si), and the 21st century will be the century of carbon (C)." The manufacturer, DT Nanotechnology, has appointed Dr. Andre Geim as an executive officer to explore the various possibilities of graphene and develop it into products.
