A method for producing glycopolymers in an aqueous solution using unprotected sugars as starting materials.
In recent years, polysaccharides with various physiological activities have been developed as materials that utilize the functions of sugar chains. However, the adjustment of polysaccharides has been difficult to control freely using organic chemical and enzymatic methods due to the reactions involved with polymers. Therefore, the present invention provides a method for introducing unprotected sugar chains into polymers under mild conditions by applying the amadori transfer reaction.
