Case 8: School Lunch Center - Commercial Food Waste Processor Bio Clean
We are composting the leftover food and food waste from school lunches.
Nishigo Village in Fukushima Prefecture is focusing on food education for children through local production for local consumption activities and participation in the "Delicious School Lunch Contest." To effectively utilize the leftovers from the approximately 2,000 school lunches prepared daily, the Bio Clean system has been introduced at the Fukushima Prefecture Nishigo Village School Lunch Center. Additionally, at the Hitachi City Southern School Lunch Joint Cooking Facility, leftovers and food waste from 9,800 school lunches for elementary and junior high school students in the city are being composted. After a three-year demonstration project, the system was officially implemented, and currently, two 500 kg processing units are in operation. For more details, please contact us.
