"PIX4Dcatch" Unique Manual (Revised Edition January 2023)

The unique explanatory materials for the free app "PIX4Dcatch," developed by Pix4D, have been significantly renewed and are now available for free!

"PIX4Dcatch" is a free app provided by Pix4D that allows for the necessary photography to perform SfM processing without using a drone, and it enables image processing using the captured photos and LiDAR depth data (for compatible models only) with software such as PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dcloud (other SfM software can also perform image processing, but there are limitations on processing capabilities). We have significantly revised the content of the original operation guide for "PIX4Dcatch" that we created independently and have renewed it as the "PIX4Dcatch Unique Manual," which we are offering for free. The manual includes sections such as "Software Overview," "How to Use," and "3D Models Using LiDAR Information," among others. Forest Information Analysis Software DF Scanner

Enhancing forest management efficiency by combining drone aerial photography with analysis technology using AI.

"DF Scanner" is software that analyzes forest information from photos taken by drones. When using images captured by drones, we utilize processing software from Pix4D, which we already handle, to generate the data necessary for forest analysis. By leveraging the AI analysis features that are characteristic of "DF Scanner," we can identify approximately 60 species, including not only cedar and cypress but also conifers like fir and red pine, as well as some broadleaf trees like konara and beech. This allows for centralized analysis of tree detection, species identification, tree height, DBH (diameter at breast height), and trunk volume estimation for each individual tree, thereby improving the efficiency and digitization of daily maintenance tasks.

Point Cloud Data Analysis Software for Forests DF LAT

Achieving precise analysis of forests from three-dimensional point cloud data created by laser drones!

"DF LAT" is software that generates data for forest analysis, such as detailed topographic maps and canopy height data, from three-dimensional point cloud data obtained by laser drones. It enables the detection of the ground beneath trees from data collected by commercially available laser-equipped drones, as well as the creation of numerical terrain data and numerical elevation data with a resolution of approximately 5 cm, allowing for the examination of work paths and microtopography within the forest. Furthermore, by conducting additional analysis with "DF Scanner" based on the various data created by "DF LAT," it becomes possible to obtain more accurate measurements of tree height and timber volume.

"Pix4Dmapper" is software developed by the Swiss company Pix4D that can reconstruct three-dimensional shapes (create high-density point cloud data and 3D mesh data) from image data captured by drones or ground photography, as well as generate digital surface models (DSM) and orthomosaic images.
