Italian Plaster ANTIQUA
Italian Plaster ANTIQUA
"Antiqua" is an Italian-made natural mineral plaster that features gray stone particles, marble, lime, and other natural materials, enhanced with natural pigments. It expresses two types of materials, "Antiqua 1," which consists of fine particles, and "Antiqua 2," which has a mixture on the surface, using four different techniques to depict subtle textures and color variations. While Antiqua 1 is made with white aggregates of about 3 rin (approximately 1 mm), Antiqua 2 contains black aggregates of about 5 rin (1.5 to 2 mm). Antiqua is a plaster material born from traditional Italian craftsmanship. Its surface has delicate shadows, and the carefully applied thickness provides a sense of weightiness along with a comforting softness. It can be said to be a plaster material that gains character over time rather than deteriorating immediately after application. Which would you choose: a finishing material that starts off beautiful but degrades and loses value over time, or one that develops character as time passes? The main component, lime, is originally made from limestone, and after being applied to the wall and dried, it undergoes a chemical reaction with carbon dioxide in the air, gradually transforming back into limestone. In other words, it is a natural recycling process.
