By applying it, the red heartwood of "cedar" is made to look like the pure white sapwood, protecting the wood from rain and ultraviolet rays with the high-performance wood finish 'Kimamori Senka Cedar Red Heartwood Eraser'.
Sion Co., Ltd. (Location: Yahaba Town, Iwate Prefecture, Representative Director: Koichiro Ishikawa) will release the domestically produced high-performance wood coating "Kimamori Senka (Wood Guardian Specialty) Red Cedar" in July 2022. The Kimamori Senka line includes three types: "Fire Protect," which promotes fire resistance by simply applying it; "Weather Protect," which emphasizes high weather resistance against rain and ultraviolet rays; and "Virus Protect," released this February, which promotes antiviral (and antibacterial) effects for wood surfaces around you. This time, we are introducing "Red Cedar," which promotes the appearance of red cedar wood as if it were white sapwood, encouraging the use of red cedar, which has often been avoided as a finishing material, and expanding the utilization of domestically produced cedar, the harvesting of which has been increasing year by year.
