The FCU-DFC series is a groundbreaking self-extinguishing flame retardant that possesses three elements to suppress combustion. It is a coating that inhibits the elements that cause combustion (heat, oxygen, and flammable gases). Broadly, there are three types: an impregnation type for absorbent materials, a powder blending type that can be mixed into resins, and a coating type for existing materials, which can be combined with other functional coatings for various applications.
Combustion requires a chain of three elements: heat, flammable gases, and oxygen, and it is said that if even one of these elements is missing, combustion will not occur. The FCU-DFC series can suppress combustion through gas phase control (suppressing thermal decomposition in the early stages of combustion, diluting flammable gases, blocking oxygen, and cooling) and solid phase control (diluting and blocking flammable gases in the mid to late stages of combustion, generating non-combustible char for insulation, and blocking oxygen).
