Fragile and easily breakable tires, as well as rigid and corroded rotating fittings, rendered the carts nearly or completely unusable, making them difficult for operators to handle, reducing work efficiency, and incurring maintenance costs. As a solution, we analyzed the specific requests from the field and developed an ideal solution based on the Blickle LIX-POTH caster wheel series. As a special feature, a special cold-resistant grease suitable for roller bearings at temperatures down to -70°C is applied to the deep groove ball bearings of the wheels and the swivel parts of the mounting fittings. The basic wheel assembly uses two swivel casters from the "L-ALTH series" and two fixed casters with deadman brakes from the "B-GTH series." The casters are equipped with polyurethane treads called "Blickle Extrathane." After detailed discussions with this company, Blickle's engineers designed additional flanged wheels to enable safe use on railway tracks. The manufacturer of electric lifts for high-altitude work was using drive wheels and swivel casters from other companies for their mobile electric lifts for high-altitude work. As a solution from Blickle, the drive wheels (GSTN) featuring the polyurethane elastomer tread "Blickle Softhane" were well-suited for this application. The characteristics of this tread included comfort in operation and high grip, but at the request of the client, wheels were chosen that used a gray tread that does not leave marks on the floor and a black painted finish for the wheel center. The GTH wheels, which have low rolling resistance, were designed with a smaller offset value to be incorporated into existing machine designs, and a location was provided for a directional restriction lock system that can be operated remotely by the operator. By using these wheels, it was demonstrated that the solution meets the aesthetic requirements of the company and is compatible with existing machine designs. An online retail company in the United States that handles a variety of products is currently making significant investments to expand its logistics and transportation business with the aim of reducing the outsourcing of its logistics management processes. They requested bids from manufacturers for casters to be used on carts for parcels. Each cart required two types of casters. Blickle proposed a solution. In addition to finding the appropriate technical solution, they were looking for a supplier that could quickly provide a large quantity of products and had experience in postal logistics. Blickle's design department developed a special specification "L-ALTH swivel caster" according to the customer's requirements. The "L-ALTH wheel" used for the casters features a tread design optimized for rolling resistance, with more convex areas than standard wheels. As a result, Blickle's engineers also designed a special directional locking mechanism operated by a cable pull. The company's unmanned transport vehicle (AGV) "Grenzebach L1200S" can enter under equipment such as desks, carts, frames, and shelves, lift the equipment, and transport it to a specific location. However, to transport heavy equipment with the AGV, casters with a high load-bearing capacity were necessary. Therefore, we adopted the specially designed caster 'LSD-ALTH 101K-AS-FA-902289'. With our dual-wheel casters and drive wheels, the AGV can now be used around the clock and operates effectively even in narrow spaces with a turning radius of less than 1 meter. As part of the lane expansion project, it was necessary to lower a bridge section weighing over 1,200 tons and measuring 53 meters in length gradually over several days. The company's experts came up with a method to lower the bridge section using casters while aligning it with the steel framework, and contacted Wache, the distributor for Blickle. Blickle's development department devised a customized solution that met all requirements, including a low mounting height for the casters and a tread width of less than 200mm. This significantly improved the previously complex lowering method that used PTFE plates, and by using specially designed casters, the bridge section no longer got stuck.
