This is a fiber optic extender that transmits 1-channel analog video (NTSC) and 2-channel analog audio (L/R) in one direction. There are models capable of transmitting up to 300m with single-core multimode and standard 25km or a maximum of 60km with single-core single mode. The video can be transmitted at a level of 1.0Vp-p @ 75Ω with a bandwidth of up to 8MHz, allowing for transmission while maintaining high quality that is hard to believe for analog video. Additionally, the audio frequency range supported by this type of equipment is unusually wide, covering from 20Hz to 20kHz. Utilizing this wide bandwidth, there are customers who have successfully extended GPS time pulse signals (10kHz) over fiber optics instead of analog audio. There are models that transmit only analog video, models that include audio signals, and the 240E series that supports bidirectional data transmission of serial RS-232/RS-422. Furthermore, there are card-type variations available that can be mounted in a chassis for cases requiring multi-channel transmission.
