Cold in summer and warm in winter? The now-popular renewable energy, sewage heat.

Abundant unused energy exists within the city! It demonstrates energy-saving effects and CO2 reduction effects.

Wastewater discharged from homes and factories is transported through sewer pipes to treatment facilities, where it is treated and then released into the sea or rivers. Since these sewer pipes are buried underground, they are less affected by external temperatures, resulting in wastewater that is "cold in summer and warm in winter." The thermal energy from the temperature difference between wastewater and outside air is referred to as "wastewater heat," which can be utilized as a heat source for heating, hot water supply, and snow melting, thereby achieving energy-saving effects and reducing CO2 emissions. Although it is stable and abundant, there are still few examples of its implementation, and its promotion is expected to increase with the advancement of decarbonization as a renewable energy source. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.*

Geothermal Facility Introduction Case: Oyabe City Kanitani Children's Garden (Toyama Prefecture)

Expecting the effects of peak power reduction! Children with high activity levels can comfortably spend the whole year.

At Kaniyama Children's Garden, unlike the Pacific side, we believe it is difficult to benefit from solar energy during the cold winter, and we have been exploring systems that utilize natural energy. Through air circulation, we can maintain clean air, which I think is a suitable system for the children's garden, so we introduced the "Geo Power System." During the hot summer months, we are able to spend comfortably in low humidity and refreshing air by utilizing the EHP integrated into the system. Additionally, we particularly appreciate its benefits in winter, gradually raising the temperature settings for the heat storage layer once we start to feel the chill. [Reasons for Implementation] - There is a heat storage layer under the floor, allowing for comfortable air conditioning in the space where the children are. - By utilizing late-night hours for heat storage, we also expect to achieve peak power cut effects. - Air circulation helps maintain clean air. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us. [Case Study of Geothermal Heat Facility] Service-Provided Housing for the Elderly - Kenseikan

Introducing examples adopted with the aim of considering users who are not comfortable with air conditioning!

The service-equipped housing for the elderly, Ken Seikan, was selected for the FY 2011 project "Service-Equipped Housing for the Elderly" (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) and opened in October 2012. It has become one of the largest facilities in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture, attracting attention. By creating a comfortable nursing facility with good air quality, we hope to encourage elderly residents who tend to stay in their rooms to come out and interact. To this end, we introduced the "GEO Power System" in the day service area on the first floor. This system was adopted to consider users who are sensitive to air conditioning, reduce the unique odors of nursing facilities, and lower running costs by reducing the load on the air conditioning. Staff members have expressed surprise, saying, "The air in the day service area is fresh," and "I don't notice any food odors." [Case Overview] ■ Purpose: Consideration for users who are sensitive to air conditioning, reduction of unique odors in nursing facilities, and reduction of running costs by decreasing air conditioning load. ■ Completion: September 2012 Published in the GEO Power System newsletter "Wind of the Earth" No. 274 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Reuse water utilization system

A water recycling system that purifies wastewater from toilets and kitchens and reuses it as toilet flushing water.

■This is a water recycling system that purifies, decolorizes, and deodorizes wastewater from toilets and kitchens, allowing it to be reused as toilet flushing water. ■Thanks to a system that uses ozone, the treated water becomes colorless and odorless. ■By purifying and reusing water, it eliminates waste of resources and perfectly aligns with the concept of "environmental consideration and coexistence"! ■Even during water shortages or disasters, as long as power is secured, toilets can be used, so there is no need to worry about toilets during droughts or earthquakes. ■In areas with discharge restrictions, a no-discharge system can be implemented, allowing the gray water reuse system to be effective! ■In the gray water reuse system, water is treated in three stages: "combined treatment septic tank → tertiary treatment tank → gray water treatment tank," ultimately purifying the wastewater to below "BOD5 mg/liter" and above "transparency 100"! ■There are implementation records in convenience stores, small to medium-sized suburban stores, factories, and more. ■A maintenance contract is required.
