Metal parts of heating appliances are automatically polished with instantaneous pressure force correction. The highest finish!

The influence of gravitational load is autonomously corrected, allowing for automatic polishing with high-quality stable finishing on R-shaped and complex-shaped workpieces, uniformly correcting the force from any angle.

FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) that occurs during processing in grinding and polishing, which require skilled techniques, in response to dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-planar surfaces of the workpiece, at high speed. It also automatically compensates for gravitational loads, allowing for consistent grinding/polishing with a set contact force. This technology can increase the speed at which devices and robots move along their trajectories, thereby enhancing processing speed and improving cycle times. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the ability to control the contact pressure through the expansion and contraction of the ACF itself means that there is no need to move the heavy robotic arm for corrections, which further assists in improving the processing speed of robotic polishing. Moreover, it automatically compensates for tool loads caused by gravity, which varies with the robot's angle, ensuring that a uniform contact pressure is maintained from any angle, allowing for a finish without processing inconsistencies. Seeing is believing! Please check our website or YouTube (FerRobotics) for example application videos.

Skilled polishing techniques for robots. Polishing and repair of automotive bodies and resin parts.

Repair polishing of automotive bodies and resin parts requiring highly skilled techniques. Sensitive contact with the workpiece using high-speed autonomous correction control of contact force. Automation of craftsmanship.

FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) that occurs during polishing and grinding processes, which require skilled techniques, at high speed. This technology allows for consistent polishing/grinding at the set contact force, unaffected by variations in processing speed or gravitational load differences due to angles. With the end effector (ACF) utilizing ACT technology, it instantly adjusts to changes in dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-flat surfaces by rapidly and automatically correcting the stroke's extension and contraction, maintaining contact with the workpiece at the set force. The double-header design enables sanding and polishing with a single unit, significantly improving cycle times. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the ACF controls the contact pressure through the extension and contraction of its stroke, eliminating the need to move the heavy robotic arm for corrections, which further assists in improving processing speed. Furthermore, it automatically corrects tool load variations caused by gravity changes due to the robot's angle, ensuring consistent contact pressure from any angle and enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies.

[Polishing Example] Glass bead and shot blast surface treatment after mirror finish

After a mirror finish equivalent to 1000 grit, a 400 grit glass bead shot blasting treatment is performed to enhance the texture! This also demonstrates corrosion resistance due to surface uniformity.

After ultra-precision polishing equivalent to 1000 grit (mirror finish), a 400 grit glass bead shot blast treatment can be applied, allowing for a surface treatment that creates depth and character as shown in the image. Additionally, the uniformity of the surface is expected to enhance corrosion resistance. *The image on the left compares the color changes of the surface after mirror treatment and after shot blasting. *Please refer to the PDF available for download for case studies.

[Column] About the Polishing Process of Metal Masks

The next process in laser processing is "surface polishing"! We will provide a thorough explanation.

In this column, we will introduce "the polishing process of metal masks." Like other mask manufacturers, we have various specifications and methods within a limited number of processes to meet our customers' requests, along with a wealth of diverse know-how. This time, I would like to discuss "surface polishing," which is the next process after laser processing. [Contents] ■ What is surface polishing? ■ Types of surface polishing ■ The hatred of dross *For detailed content of the column, please refer to the related links. Barrel polishing

We accept everything from prototypes to mass-produced items. Please consult with us first!

Barrel polishing includes deburring, rounding edges, adjusting surface roughness (improving smoothness), scale removal, and glossy finishing. It is also referred to as cutting barrel or gloss barrel. 【Rotary Barrel】 This is a common barrel polishing method that involves rotating the barrel. It allows for stable and precise polishing with minimal unevenness. 【Vibratory Barrel】 This method vibrates the entire barrel tank. Compared to rotary barrels, it tends to result in less impact marks, scratches, and bending. 【Centrifugal Barrel】 This method combines the orbital and rotational motion of the polishing tank for high-speed rotation. It provides strong polishing power, allowing for heavy cutting to precise finishing in a short time. Our company offers barrel polishing tailored to our customers' needs, using rotary barrels, vibratory barrels, centrifugal barrels, and other polishing methods. We can also perform consistent processing with buff polishing and chemical treatment. Please feel free to consult with us!
