Reinforced Water-retaining Environmental Paving Material "Power Pave Sand"

[Patent Granted] A vehicle-compatible pedestrian pavement material that combines excellent water retention and durability. It demonstrates outstanding long-term strength (durability)!

A new paving material that combines single-sized crushed stone and porous-shaped blast furnace water-quenched slag, possessing robustness, durability, water retention, and permeability. The interlocking of aggregates with different particle sizes achieves a bending strength of 40 kgf/cm². The "latent hydraulicity" of the blast furnace water-quenched slag provides excellent long-term strength (durability). 【Features】 ■ Bending strength exceeds 40 kgf/cm², achieving an exceptionally high value among pedestrian paving materials. ■ High durability is exhibited due to the interlocking of aggregates and the "latent hydraulicity" of the blast furnace water-quenched slag. ■ At a thickness of 7 cm, it stores approximately 16 liters of water per square meter! ■ Quickly permeates rainwater, making it difficult for puddles to form, allowing for comfortable walking even during and after rain. ■ Mitigates the heat island effect. ■ Enriches groundwater and stimulates plant growth. ■ The fine surface texture makes it slip-resistant when wet, providing easy walking. <Examples of Use> Building exteriors (terraces) / Residential exteriors / Schools / Parking lots / Commercial facilities Urban parks / Housing exhibitions / Parking areas and roadside stations / Event spaces, etc. *For more details, please contact us or download the PDF.

[Case Study] Permeable Blast Furnace Slag Paving Material 'Color Sand'

The permeable and water-retaining paving material "Color Sand" has been reintroduced to Akebono Children's Forest Park!

In 1997, shortly after the establishment of Sanwa Grand Co., Ltd., our colored sand was adopted at "Akebono Children's Forest Park" in Hannō City, Saitama Prefecture. This park won the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award at the 14th Urban Park Competition. Since then, it has been introduced to many people as a representative example of our adopted sites. About 20 years later, during the renewal, permeable and water-retaining colored sand was once again chosen for the park path paving. 【Features】 ■ Excellent permeability, water retention, and freeze resistance ■ Over 80% recycling rate due to the use of aggregates specified in the Green Purchasing Law ■ Meets the "surface requirements" needed for sidewalks and bicycle paths ■ Over 1,500 adoptions in "public works" ordered by municipalities nationwide *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Permeable blast furnace slag paving material "Color Sand"

Perfect for green infrastructure initiatives! This paving material boasts excellent durability, along with permeability, water retention, and aesthetic appeal.

The initiatives for green infrastructure have been recognized in the park shown in the photo. The permeable and water-retaining paving material 'Color Sand' utilizes 'blast furnace crushed slag,' an aggregate with a fine porous structure, achieving high permeability and water retention. Depending on environmental conditions, its durability is approximately 15 to 20 years. It has a texture similar to soil, making it easy to blend into natural landscapes as 'slag pavement.' Choosing a gray tone can match urban landscapes as well. It allows rainwater to permeate and return to the ground, alleviating the 'heat island phenomenon' in urban areas. It is designed to minimize puddles and has a high slip resistance, making it easy to walk on during and after rainfall. **Features** - Excellent functionality (permeability, water retention, freeze resistance, durability, slip resistance) - Uses aggregates specified for procurement under the Green Purchasing Law, with a recycling rate of over 80% - Meets the 'road surface requirements' needed for sidewalks and bicycle paths - Over 1,800 instances of adoption in 'public works' ordered by municipalities nationwide - Perfect for the recently highlighted initiatives of 'green infrastructure' (permeability and water retention) ★ Currently, we are offering a 'collection of adoption examples' for parks and building exteriors. You can view it immediately via [PDF download].
