Color Story: Examples of Color Tolerance
The tolerance range of colors can be expressed in terms of color difference values.
When the measured tristimulus values XYZ are converted to UCS (Uniform Color Space), they can be displayed in L*a*b* coordinates, allowing for the comparison of the magnitude of perceived color differences based on the distance between the coordinates of two colors. In other words, the acceptable range of colors can be expressed in terms of color difference values. We will introduce examples commonly used in JIS standards and various industrial sectors. 【Examples of Color Tolerances (Excerpt)】 ■ Non-evaluable area - The range of perceived color differences falls within the margin of error, even with specially calibrated color measurement instruments, making it indistinguishable by humans. ■ Identification boundary - The range of perceived color differences is within the reproducibility range of sufficiently calibrated color measurement instruments, where trained individuals can reliably identify the limits. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
