In June 2018, a law related to work style reform was enacted, and the Labor Standards Act was amended. The major point of the amended Labor Standards Act, which was enforced from 2019, excluding certain industries like construction, is that the upper limit on overtime work hours has been clearly defined. A grace period was established for industries such as construction, transportation, and for doctors regarding the application of the law, but this will be lifted after April 2024, and compliance with the law will be mandatory. On the other hand, the novel coronavirus, which spread globally in 2020, had a significant impact on our lives. To prevent the spread of infection, the flow of people and goods was stagnated, greatly affecting economic activities. According to a survey by Teikoku Databank, as of September 2023, the cumulative number of companies that went bankrupt due to COVID-19 since February 2020 has exceeded 6,600. What will the environment surrounding the construction industry look like in the future? The company aims to solve the waste and scrap issues in the construction industry with the mission of "using all construction materials without discarding them," contributing to the achievement of the SDGs. ◆ No listing fees and unlimited listings In construction sites, various construction materials often remain as excess inventory, incurring costs for storage and disposal. At the same time, there are sites that lack materials and need to purchase new ones. According to a survey by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the recycling rate of construction mixed waste is only 50.4%, which is significantly low compared to wood and concrete debris. Users who list leftover construction materials do not need to pay listing fees and can list as many times as they want. Users who want construction materials can receive them for free up to a certain number of transactions. The company hopes that Amatta will inspire the entire construction industry to work together to leave a positive impact on the planet and the future.
