Polyurethane, like sponge and similar materials, is fundamentally a material that easily absorbs water. When it absorbs water due to rainwater intrusion and retains it, it can cause mold growth, as well as degradation or deformation and shrinkage due to hydrolysis. "Icynene LD Foam" is a spray foam polyurethane developed with a unique cell structure that minimizes water absorption, and the difference is evident. In the North American ASTM D2862 water absorption test results for spray polyurethane, the water absorption rate was only "5%", showing more than a tenfold difference compared to other companies.
