Case Study 2 of AI Image Inspection Service: Surface Inspection Process of Mirrors

We will introduce a case where our AI image inspection service improved inspection accuracy (from 60% to 97%) and reduced the burden on inspectors through visual inspection.

Rist developed a mirror surface inspection system using Deep Learning technology in the product inspection process of Murakami Kaimeido Co., Ltd., which holds the No. 1 domestic market share in rearview mirrors. This system achieved an improvement in inspection accuracy (from 60% to 97%) and reduced the burden on inspectors who previously relied on visual checks. 【Challenges】 ■ Difficulty in quantifying image color and other attributes ■ Ambiguity in standards due to human determination of thresholds ■ The need for inspectors to ultimately verify results visually We have addressed these challenges with our AI image inspection system. *For more details, please download the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Combination of Keyence's XG-X and Toshiba's proprietary AI image inspection technology.

A hybrid approach to solving challenges in the implementation of rule-based appearance inspection systems.

In the automation of visual inspection, rule-based automatic inspection has been mainstream, but there are challenges such as: - Requires specialized knowledge (personalization) - Time-consuming to set up - Cannot suppress over-detection By combining the Meister Apps AI image automatic inspection package with the Keyence image processing system XG-X, it is possible for anyone to easily set up in a short time and suppress over-detection through automatic threshold optimization. Additionally, it can be easily implemented retroactively without affecting operations, contributing to the improvement of current inspection accuracy.
