Hybrid Joint NS-LL Type: A Stretchable Device with Excellent Water Stopping Properties

The Hybrid Joint NS-LL type is manufactured using the press vulcanization bonding technology, which is also used in the production of bearings. Regarding the bonding part, it has been confirmed through a tensile test by the Chemical Substance Evaluation Research Organization that the failure mode was material failure rather than cohesive failure, meaning there was no delamination. This indicates that the steel plate and rubber are bonded very strongly, making it a product with excellent water-tightness. In addition to the strong adhesive force between the rubber and the steel plate, the structure is designed so that the water-stopping rubber does not come into direct contact with the tires of passing vehicles, making it less prone to wear.
