Introduction of a case where the leakage of flow ends was resolved, preventing road surface freezing and leading to improved safety!

This is a case study of leak prevention work conducted at the Kurizaka Tunnel in Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture, using "surface drainage technology." Leakage from the spring line (SL) was causing the formation of ice pillars, which posed safety risks. Additionally, snow-melting pipes were installed on the sidewalk, making it difficult to manage water flow, necessitating effective countermeasures. To address the leakage from the SL, arch drain surface drainage was implemented, and side drains were installed for the drainage treatment of the water flow. The elimination of ice pillar formation meant that nighttime responses from management were no longer necessary, reducing the burden of maintenance. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenges - Leakage from the spring line (SL) was causing the formation of ice pillars, which hindered safety. - The presence of snow-melting pipes on the sidewalk made it difficult to manage water flow. ■Results - Nighttime responses from management were no longer necessary, reducing the burden of maintenance. - Leakage at the water flow was resolved, preventing road surface freezing and improving safety. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

[Example of Surface Water Works] Sado Circular Route, Taka Tunnel at Hage

Introducing a case where the installation of gutters in areas without leaks was minimized, while clarifying the drainage route and achieving effective water diversion measures!

This is an example of a tunnel leakage prevention construction project using "surface drainage" at the Taka Tunnel in the Sado Loop Line, located in Sado City, Niigata Prefecture. There were numerous cracks over a wide area at the top of the tunnel, leading to leakage. On the other hand, there was a request not to install drainage pipes in areas without leakage other than the top, necessitating efficient drainage measures. By installing a funnel-shaped catch basin between the side drain and the arch drain line, we were able to prevent water from pooling in the side drain, thereby improving drainage performance and reducing maintenance burdens. 【Case Summary】 ■Challenges - Numerous cracks over a wide area at the top of the tunnel were causing leakage. - There was a request not to install drainage pipes in areas without leakage other than the top, requiring efficient drainage measures. ■Results - We were able to improve drainage performance and reduce maintenance burdens. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Low-cost implementation of sand mat construction alternatives! Simple preliminary design considerations can be made.

We would like to introduce a case where a high-pressure horizontal drainage material was proposed as an alternative method to the sand mat used in PBD construction. In this project, it was necessary to implement a fill height of approximately 12 meters on soft ground, and consolidation settlement of the soft ground was anticipated. Therefore, we proposed the high-pressure horizontal drainage material "Public Drain" as an alternative to the sand mat.
