When considering energy efficiency in buildings, openings such as windows are the biggest issue regarding their insulation properties. In other words, openings intended for daylighting require transparency, while in winter, insulation, airtightness, and solar gain are necessary, whereas in summer, shading from sunlight and ventilation are required. Thus, openings are always expected to have a regulating function in relation to the external environment. External (exterior) blinds installed on the outside release radiant heat to the outside air, significantly improving solar energy shading performance. Additionally, with external (exterior) blinds, there is no need for eaves, allowing for a more spacious area to be secured.
